Mondays 4:00-5:15  age 6-11 primary (10 in each session)  

'Through drawing we learn to see’

Start your creative journey at Insole Court’s first Sketchbook club for children of Primary school age. This popular course has been running for over three years and because of long waiting lists we have introduced a second art and craft course on a Wednesday for this age group. 

Learn drawing skills and make your mark by discovering the joys of creating tone, line, shape and pattern. You will discover how to illustrate people and draw from life and your surroundings. Together we will explore water-colours, collage and free flow art. Sometimes we’ll paint to music and we’ll splash inks around to achieve exciting results.

We will be inspired by artists, old and new, and will never run out of amazing ideas!

These termly workshops will help budding artists discover their own potential, while building artistic confidence and having fun. The sessions are taught by Beth Morris.

Insole Court is the perfect location to explore landscapes and the urban environment. Weather dependent this course will be based outdoors (in the grounds and surrounding areas of Insole Court, Llandaff) so please bring a warm coat. This summer (2021) will be focused on the direct study of nature, utilising sketchbook study and a myriad of media and techniques.

All students will be given an octopus hard backed sketchbook to fill over the course of the term.
