Starting Monday 13th January 2025 - 7th April 2025
Term time: online
Taught by Beth Morris
Take a break, explore your creativity, and be part of a community that values and uplifts your voice. Let Care Package help you find inspiration and support through the art of journaling.
Please express your interest to join by ‘adding to the cart.’ You will not be charged even though it takes your card details (this is just website admin) You will be added to our ‘Care Package’ list and contacted by Beth and / or Katy Styles of the We Care Campaign after Christmas.
Supported by the We Care campaign, Beth Morris Workshops, and Oxfam Cymru, Care Package is a transformative 12-week online workshop designed specifically for unpaid carers living in Wales.
Care Package is more than a workshop—it’s a safe, welcoming space for unpaid carers to relax, unwind, and connect with like-minded individuals. We’ll explore the power of creative journaling to express thoughts, share experiences, and celebrate your unique story, all within a supportive online community. This initiative seeks to create a nurturing space where participants can connect, reflect, and amplify their voices through creative journaling.
Led by Beth Morris, a seasoned facilitator with extensive experience in creative journaling, the sessions will guide participants through thoughtfully designed tasks that encourage self-expression, resilience, and advocacy.
What to Expect:
• Weekly creative journaling sessions to explore personal stories and experiences.
• A supportive environment that fosters connection and shared understanding.
• Opportunities to amplify carers’ voices, identify key challenges, and co-create campaigns to influence policy changes in Wales.
• Inspiration drawn from impactful previous projects, such as the Embroidered Dusters Project, showcasing the power of creativity and craftivism in building visibility and awareness.
What Will We Do?
• Themed Journaling Prompts: Explore meaningful themes that inspire reflection and creativity.
• Creating Life Lists: Capture dreams, goals, and memories in beautiful, personal ways.
• Doodling and Page Layouts: Learn techniques to design eye-catching journal pages.
• Stickers, Collage, and Cutouts: Discover how to incorporate visual elements to enhance your journal.
• Motivational Quotes: Reflect on and craft inspiring words to boost positivity.
• Creative Writing Exercises: Find your voice and tell your story through guided prompts.
What Makes Care Package Special?
• A relaxing, judgment-free space where you can share as much—or as little—as you like.
• A chance to connect with a community of carers who understand your experiences.
• A creative outlet to process challenges and celebrate wins in your life as a carer.
How does a Beth Morris Workshop zoom workshop work?
The participants will be muted on entry to the zoom session However, this does not mean the energy and enthusiasm will be any less than if we were all in the same room together. There will be chats, tasks and demonstrations to watch and you will be encouraged to engage with questions via the chat facility on zoom. Sometimes we’ll unmute and chat to each other. We will become a community - it wont be too formal! Equally if people feel comfortable just to listen rather than engage, that is fine too. There is no pressure. The tasks will be short but inventive so will get you thinking quickly and will leave you keen to develop your creativity after the workshop.
What will I need for the online workshops?
Please bring the following with you:
A dotted grid journal for the journalling workshop
Sharp pencil
A rubber
Washable felt pens or any water based markers (not sharpies)
Highlighters (if you have them)
Water pot
Paintbrush
Black biro or black fine-liner
A cuppa
An open mind ready to be inspired
You’re not alone. Together, we’ll build a creative community that celebrates your role and supports your journey.
Through Care Package, we aim to highlight the invaluable contributions of unpaid carers, provide a platform for their stories, and support their journey toward creating meaningful change. Join us to discover the power of your voice and the strength of a creative, connected community.
