Workshop Description: “Inhabited Landscapes: Painting Towns, Cities, and Villages with Scott Euden”
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to work with Scott Euden, a highly sought-after artist and regular tutor at Beth Morris Workshops! Known for his iconic trees and rural landscapes, Scott is now offering a fresh experience that explores his lesser-known but equally captivating skill in painting inhabited landscapes.
In this unique workshop, Scott will guide you in capturing the vibrancy and character of towns, cities, and villages, using mixed media to bring inhabited spaces to life. With his expert instruction, you’ll dive into techniques for depicting buildings, people, street signs, and the distinctive features of urban and semi-urban scenes. We’ll explore Scott’s own inspiring work and draw from famous cityscape and townscape artists to inform your creative choices, then you’ll have the chance to bring your own imaginative or remembered landscapes to life.
Throughout the day, you’ll layer acrylics, inks, and charcoals to develop texture and depth, experimenting with a variety of materials to add unique character to your scene. Scott’s supportive, hands-on approach will help you feel confident, guiding you as you make bold creative choices and discover new techniques. Beginners and improvers alike are welcome, and you’ll leave not only with a completed piece of art but also with a newfound understanding of inhabited landscapes, ready to expand your artistic practice.
Artist / Maker / Tutor:
Scott Euden is a Welsh artist focused on Landscape/Seascape painting and recreating the sublime beauty of the natural landscape. A dynamic approach to diverse subject matter, intuitive mark-making and an unconventional interpretation in acrylics from observation, experience and memory.
Scott creates compelling images of the ‘natural’ landscape in Wales and works toward private commissions and public exhibitions. He is also a very popular art tutor and runs two weekly art sessions at Beth Morris Workshops. Scott’s ‘Future Artist’ class for teens and his adult ‘Landscape Painting’ class is always full. So, if you were hoping to join one of those, but not been lucky so far, this is your chance to do a full days workshop with the man himself.
Scott’s most recent shows include:
Group exhibition at London Welsh Centre for Draw: Wales Sketchbook Project (part of the Wales Week London annual event)
Group exhibition ‘Pages From A Book’ at the Hearth Gallery in Cardiff
What is included in the ticket price?
All art supplies but you are welcome to bring your own along too if you prefer.
Tea, coffee and biscuits.
Where will the workshops take place?
In Beth’s studio at Insole Court, Cardiff.
Please read all the T’s and C’s before booking.
