Workshop Description: Colour Mixing and Colour Theory: in Oils

Unlock the power of colour in your painting with this immersive full-day oil painting workshop. Designed for artists of all levels, this class will teach you how to confidently mix a wide range of colours using a limited palette. You’ll explore the essentials of colour theory, including how to effectively use complementary colours, accurately match colours from observation, and understand how colours interact to alter perception. Discover techniques for mixing clean, vibrant hues as well as muted, subtle tones, perfect for both realistic rendering and mood creation. Learn how to create harmony within your paintings and use colour to create depth.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with increased confidence in mixing your own colours and a deeper understanding of how to apply colour theory in your art. These skills will elevate your ability to communicate visually, whether your focus is realism, abstraction, or anything in between.

Just bring yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on, or wear an apron.

Tea, coffee and biscuits.
